Sports physiotherapy deals with injuries and musculo-skeletal problems experienced during sport by anybody – you don’t need to be an elite athlete to benefit from sports physiotherapy. People involved with sport normally require a higher level of rehabilitation than those doing everyday activities – this is because they place higher demands on their body.
Your sports physiotherapist doesn’t need to be active in the sport to help you – most importantly they understand the biomechanics and demands of your sport and can advise on management of acute, chronic or overuse injuries.
Manipulative Therapy
Manipulative Therapists have advanced training musculoskeletal conditions (muscle and joint). They use advanced clinical assessment techniques to accurately diagnose enabling treatment to be more efficacious.
Manipulative therapists will generally utilise some sort of manual therapy (hands on) along with advice, management strategies and exercise for your musculoskeletal injury or dysfunction.
