Here’s just some of the problems we can help you with:

We’re happy to help you if you’ve just had an injury or if you’ve been struggling with a problem for some time. It’s always better to seek treatment and advice as soon after injury as possible, that way you know the right things to do for your body.

We also offer Pilates, and Massage therapy services.

Massage
Why massage? Massage is excellent for relaxation and stress relief, which we all know we could do with. Tight, sore muscles respond very well to massage and myofascial techniques for reduction of stress and tension. Massage is also very useful for the sports person who may be experiencing tightness and extra soreness in certain muscle groups. Physiotherapists are highly qualified in the diagnosis of soft tissue damage and postural problems. As such, your massage will be fine tuned to your personal needs for maximum benefit. Whether you require relaxation “time out”, relief of muscle tension or release of those “muscle knots”, massage by a physiotherapist may well be the answer for you.

Who is it for? Anyone and Everyone!

Pilates
What is Pilates? Pilates is a mind-body exercise technique which trains the mind to control the way your body breathes and moves. You will learn to control your breathing and work postural muscles to control your spine and pelvis while moving your body. Faulty patterns of movement and muscle imbalances predispose to injury; Pilates focuses on correcting habitual movement patterns and increasing body awareness. The benefit – you look better, feel better and work better!

Who is it for?
• Anyone!
• As a form of exercise to promote balanced strength and flexibility
• Those who want to correct muscle imbalances and postural problems • Those with ongoing problems such as OOS or repeated injuries
• Anyone who has had an injury (back/neck or legs) and want to recondition
• Anyone looking to improve their peak performance at sport
• Pregnant women wishing to exercise
• Post-natal return to exercise

Our Classes
Pilates consists of two main categories: mat work and machine exercises. Our classes cover mat work in a variety of positions, including standing. Where appropriate, we use exercise balls to make exercises more challenging. Our classes will have a maximum of four participants for a course of six sessions.
The same participants will complete each course so that class can progress together and the course content can be appropriate for everybody. Each class will be tailored to the participants’ needs as much as possible.
To ensure you get the most from the programme, it is recommended that each participant have had at least half an hour with a physiotherapist prior to starting the classes to discuss any specific problems they may have and learn the correct method of activating the deep postural muscles.
This cannot be taught well in a group situation as it is a very specific way of using muscles. To have this skill will ensure you’re getting the most out of your classes. What to wear Participants need to wear comfortable clothing. As Pilates is not ‘sweat-producing’, a shower or change of clothes in unnecessary.

Our Instructor: Rachel
Rachel has worked as a physiotherapist for 8 years. Her first introduction to Pilates was in 2000, using more of a one-on-one approach. Since 2001 Rachel has been taking mat work classes and was the physiotherapy consultant at the Pilates Institute in London. Rachel has recently returned from London, where she was involved in training both in Pilates and movement control systems.

Pilates Mat Classes: Classes are scheduled for client requirements on demand and run at either lunch or end of day times.

Available services:
• Initial one-on-one Assessment (30 mins)
• Course of 6 (1 hour sessions)
